Two quilts – Four block quilt, 37½" x 37½" and nine block quilt, 49" x 49". Op-Art Kaleidoscope quilt blocks are made without the use of templates or specialized rulers. This easy cutting and piecing technique utilizes 17” squares (perfect for fat quarters). The finished size of the blocks is 14”. Full instructions are enclosed for cutting the kite-shaped and wedge-shaped pieces using a 6” x 24” quilting ruler, a grided cutting mat and rotary cutter. Large Kaleidoscope blocks are constructed and then cut into nine pieces. The pieces are shuffled to create the new Op-Art Kaleidoscope blocks. These blocks are simple to piece, and when completed are trimmed to exactly 14½” square, making the quilt top assembly fast and precise.
This pattern also includes tips for designing your own Op-Art Kaleidoscope quilt with as many blocks as you like.
