Machine quilted by Wanda Rains.
Made after Maggie’s first visit to Mongolia. The Mongolian Ölzii symbol or Tibetan never-ending knot is represented in the blocks. The Ölzii is often painted on the door of Mongolian gers (yurts). It brings long life and prosperity to the inhabitants and protects them from evil spirits and wild animals. The border pattern for the quilt, which is similar to the Greek Key, was copied from a Mongolian blanket at one of the tourist ger (yurt) camps we visited.
